Inaugural Vernissage: An Unforgettable Evening

MAF opened its doors on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 6 PM in an atmosphere vibrant with emotion and enthusiasm.

Even before opening, a large crowd was already waiting in front of our doors, eager to discover this long-awaited place. This first sign of enthusiasm deeply touched us and set the tone for an evening that will remain etched in MAF's history.

Nearly 500 people gathered throughout the evening to celebrate with us the opening of Switzerland's first independent museum entirely dedicated to emerging women artists. A success that fills us with joy and gratitude.

An Evening of Encounters

All 12 of our MAF Faces were present for this inaugural evening, offering the public the unique opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their works. This proximity between artists and public created a warm and authentic atmosphere, exactly what we hoped for in this founding moment.

The speeches by Marie Bagi, MAF Director, and Jérémie Bride, President of the Foundation Board, left their mark through their sincerity and vision for MAF's future. Two voices carrying our commitment high: to shine a light on women in art and accompany emerging talents in their professionalization.

Thank You

This vernissage would not have had the same flavor without the support of our partners. Immense thanks to the City of Lausanne, which graciously offered the reception, allowing everyone to toast this new Lausanne cultural adventure.

Thanks also to La Fabrique Gourmande, our gourmet partner, which delighted our guests with its delicious cookies. These small touches helped create a convivial and festive atmosphere.

And above all, thank you to you, faithful and curious public, for being there. Thank you for waiting with a smile at the entrance when capacity was reached. Your presence and enthusiasm deeply moved and motivated us for what's to come.

What Now?

MAF is now open Tuesday through Sunday (Tue-Fri: 10 AM-6 PM • Sat: 12 PM-6 PM • Sun: 11 AM-6 PM) with free admission to discover the Cellules exhibition at the Espace Louve and Christina Willimann's 450-490 exhibition at the Espace Berger.

We hope to see many of you in our spaces to continue this adventure together. The vernissage was only the beginning. MAF's story is now being written, day by day, with you.

See you very soon at MAF
