About
Our mission is clear: to support and propel emerging women artists, promote and showcase their work, and raise public awareness of contemporary women's art. MAF aims to be a living laboratory, a hybrid space between art center and place of dialogue. Locally rooted to serve artists from the region, our reach is also national and European, fostering human and artistic encounters and exchanges.

MISSION, VALUES, AND VISION
Mission
MAF's primary mission is to address the structural gap in visibility for contemporary and emerging women artists by offering them a unique platform for recognition, support, and dissemination. We are committed to accompanying these talents in their professionalization, promoting their works, and raising public awareness of the richness and diversity of women's creation.
Values
Equity & Inclusion:
Promote fair and diverse representation of women artists in the art world.
Boldness & Innovation:
Support innovative and experimental artistic practices, and offer original curatorial approaches.
Accessibility:
Make art accessible to everyone.
Transmission & Mentorship:
Foster knowledge sharing and support young talent through inspiring figures.
Community & Sisterhood:
Cultivate a spirit of mutual support and collaboration within the women's art scene.
Vision
Our vision is of a more equitable and representative art world, where women artists' contributions are fully recognized and celebrated.
MAF aspires to become a living laboratory, a hybrid space between art center and place of dialogue, which not only exhibits but also reveals talent. A place where artistic careers take flight and where art history is being written in the present.
UNIQUE POSITIONING ON EMERGING WOMEN ARTISTS
MAF distinguishes itself through its exclusive focus on emerging women artists. Unlike many institutions that turn to already established artists, MAF is committed to identifying, supporting, and propelling talents at the beginning of their careers or in the structuring phase with specific support programs.
This positioning responds to a crying need for visibility and professionalization for these artists, often confronted with specific obstacles in a field still dominated by men. We favor artists whose works question traditional forms of representation and experiment with new visual languages through a plurality of media: painting, video, photography, sculpture, textile, installation, graphic arts, sound arts, performance.
MAF offers an immersive and thoughtful experience through its two distinct spaces dedicated to women's creativity. Our exhibitions unfold within the Espace Louve, which hosts temporary exhibitions lasting three months, and the Espace Berger, which presents more concise projects over a period of six weeks. These two spaces, through their unique configurations and atmospheres, allow us to approach the diversity of works and themes with the nuance they deserve, thus offering women artists a complete and empowering platform for expression.

The Musée Artistes Femmes: A Legacy of Associative Action
MAF inscribes itself directly in the continuity of the associative commitment of Espace Artistes Femmes (EAF). Founded in 2020 by Marie Bagi, EAF has since worked to promote and recognize women artists, notably by building a significant collection of works and developing a rich cultural activities program (exhibitions, conferences, publications).
MAF is the natural culmination of this history, taking up the torch of its activities while giving them new scope and lasting visibility. It capitalizes on the expertise and collection patiently assembled by the association to ensure the transmission and recognition of this essential artistic heritage.

The Espace Artistes Femmes association will take a major step in its development by becoming a foundation at the beginning of 2026. Born from the visionary initiative created by Marie Bagi and dedicated to the memory of Rose-Marie Berger, Espace Artistes Femmes inscribes itself in a strong artistic and intellectual lineage, attentive to transmission, commitment, and recognition of women artists. This approach gave birth to the Musée Artistes Femmes, a place dedicated to highlighting, recognizing, and transmitting the works of women artists.
The site will also welcome the Jacques-Edouard Berger Foundation, with which it will coexist. Son of Rose-Marie Berger, Jacques-Edouard Berger (1945–1993) extends this legacy through his own journey, his commitment, and the profound connection he maintained with art. The Foundation will offer a retrospective journey retracing his life and action, providing a rich dialogue between family legacies, artistic lineage, contemporary creations, and cross perspectives.
