Estate Planning
Some people wish, when planning their estate, to associate their legacy with a cause that is deeply important to them. Bequeathing a work, a collection, or part of one's assets to MAF means choosing to extend a vision: that of women's art—alive, visible, and transmitted to future generations.
MAF accepts bequests in different forms:
-
Bequest of Works or a Collection
You own works by women artists and wish to ensure them a dignified and lasting future? MAF commits to preserving them, recognizing them, and amplifying them as part of its programming.
-
Testamentary Gift
It is possible to include MAF in your will as a legatee or heir, for an amount or portion of your choice.
For any questions or to discuss your project in complete confidentiality, we invite you to contact us at info@le-maf.ch.
MAF is grateful for each gesture of trust. Together, we are building an artistic heritage for women, for today and for tomorrow.
According to Law
Swiss succession law (Swiss Civil Code) allows any person to freely dispose of their assets by will, within the limits of the rights of statutory heirs. Appointing a
Legatee (art. 484 SCC)
A bequest consists of granting a patrimonial benefit (a work, a sum of money, a collection) to a person or institution. The legatee does not enter the community of heirs but acquires a claim on the estate.
Appointing an Heir (art. 483 SCC)
The testator may designate an institution as heir, for the entire estate or for only a portion.
Valid Forms of Will
The holographic will, entirely handwritten, dated, and signed by the testator, is the simplest form. The public will, received by a notary in the presence of two witnesses, offers enhanced legal security. It is advisable to consult a lawyer or notary to ensure the validity and compliance of one's last wishes.
