Four women. Four phases. Four emotions marking existence, bridging yesterday and tomorrow.
RadiXx is an anthology of four works that dive to the roots of Fanny Stehlin's creative journey, centred around a core concept: féminalité — a feminality all her own. Lineage and transmission, bodies and pigments, epigrams and gazes — each piece is at once a portrait and a poem, an image and an inner resonance.
Nourished by her intertwined origins and half a century of existence, Fanny Stehlin questions what the thousands of faces that have emerged from her fingers over the years are trying to say. A nape, a shadow, a breath, the sketched curve of a breast: for her, the need to create always arises from a fleeting but intense emotion. Her gesture frees all facets of womanhood from mercantile and subjugating gazes, reclaiming them fully.
Through the Woman-root, the Woman-mist, the Woman-leaf and the Woman-storm, an intimate and universal cartography unfolds — one of a féminalité traversed by memory, resistance and transmission.
About Fanny Stehlin
Trained in academic and graphic arts, Fanny Stehlin first drew controlled monsters in pen, precise and chiselled dragons meant to shield her from an adolescence bearing down on her. Her art was then shaken, questioned, forgotten, reawakened, and ultimately affirmed — giving rise to the concept of féminalité as the guiding thread of a body of work deeply rooted in the intimate and the political.
